The ceiling fan / light was working fine. It is a remote controlled unit. Turned of the fan and now neither the fan nor the light work. Other outlets work in the room.
Help Help.
Thanks.

Easiest to turn breaker off a minute, back on.
Can be the switch, then check for power at ceiling. Be safe.

It would seem to be the basic first step.

If it has pull chains, you could probably can eleminate receiver if defective.
You can bypass receiver to verify which is defective.

I have a ceiling fan with a remote control. It was working fine, then the fan would not work, but I could use the chains to get the fan to come on. Now the lights are not coming on and I cannot get them to work with the chains. I replaced the remote with a new battery, but that was not the problem.

Rewire the fan without the remote receiver (inside the canopy) and see if it works.
