Without having to pay for the owner's manual, is there any place I can find instructions for replacing the drive belt on my lawn tractor, and could the difficultly I was having shifting gears have anything to do with the belt that broke?

Also, when I put the lever down to disengage the blades, they don't. There have been times that I have started up and the blades are already engaged. I have to keep pressure on the lever, to get it to start, but the blades are still rotating. Why?

I am having the same problem with my craftsman. I just replaced the belt (it is a 42 in cut) (if you pull the deck out a little there is a belt diagram on the left side).
Now it is really hard to get the blades to engage. Also when I start my mower my blades are spinning rather it is engaged or not.
Good luck.
