Hey you. I had a few questions about government grants, because I think I'm getting scammed. Ok, first off I called this 1-800 number for a government grant, he got my first and last name, address, and phone number and asked me how much I needed. I said 50,000 for a house. He called me back in 30 min. said I was accepted but I have to pay some attorney $498.00 and they only accept money orders. With me sending that money I have to include the house I want listing price. He said I would have my money in 8 weeks upon receiving my information.

Sounds like a scam. Do you still have the address that you were asked to send the money to?

Sounds like a scam... 1 gov don't just hand anyone 50,000 just from getting a phone call... if that was the case we would way less homeless people.secondly anyone that is asking you money to give you money most likely is a scam!to get money from th gov should take a lot of paper work(because they just don't hand it out like candy)not your money.. if you had money you wouldn't try to get grant.. abviously there not trying to help... I would do more h.w before sending any money

I've found that if you tell them, or even those people who call you to tell you that you won millions, to send you documents in the mail. If they don't, they are a scam.

To get a grant, first you have to qualify for it, in general they don't just give you money to buy a house. You can in some areas get help with down payments, reduced taxes and the such,

But no one just gets money to pay for a house from a grant.
