My car runs
It was low on fluids but I put some more in there
Basically I had a car full of phone books, I had the car in park and with the emergency brake on so I went to start up my car and it started fine but when I shifted gears well it didn't shift ,I mean the handle itself was moving, there was just no... it just didn't feel like it shifted like it went into drive and just seemed to stay in park even with the emergency brake off it would not move at all
This is really bad because I we don't have the money to get a new transmission
And it's a ford probe by the way
The tow truck guy is supposed to go and get it I don't know how they are going to move it with the wheels being locked and all so tell me
My uncle suggested the link that shifts it from park to the other gears mightve gotten loose or something *shrugs* any idea?

Could be the links. Start up the car and let it run for a minute or so. Then shut it off and pull out the transmission dipstick. Does it stink really bad? If so, your transmission is a goner.

Depending on how low the fluid was and for how long.

It could be a bad cable or cable guide or connection. Did the shift handle feel any different shifting now as compared to before?
