We were invited to our neighbors wedding this week. The wedding is less then 2 weeks away. We are going, but my question is... what is an appropriate gift? These are neighbors that live a few doors down and that we have only had a few casual conversations with over that past 4 years we've lived here. Any ideas? Thanks!

Salt and pepper shakers? Useful, not too expensive, and probably not something that they are going to get multiples of.

You could give them a bottle of wine or champaign and wine or champaign glasses decorated basket in a basket with ribbons.

If they are not drinkers, you could do a decorative basket including gourmet coffee, big nice clay coffee mugs and some coffee cookies.

I received both gift baskets from a few acquaintances that attended my wedding and I loved the gifts very much.

Good luck.

Thanks for you suggestions.. I actually found a moonlit canoe trip for 2 on the charles river (Boston) for $80.. I thought that was reasonable and fun

A wedding gift typically goes for $50-100. Cash is always a safe bet.
