If you are going to have cdl drivers or non-cdl, hazmat. How much you are going to charge per mile. If you are going to have a warehouse with a dock. A salesman to contact potential customers. Do you want to own 50 trucks and hire drivers, or do you want to start with one truck that you drive.

Do you want to own dump trucks, local delivery trucks, or semi trucks.

But unless you have drove for another company, my first idea is go to work doing the type of work, learn the business and then see if it is for you.

Write a good business plan, know what you want included in your plan. What is it going to take for you to reach this goal?
Who are your potential customers
Where is your company going to be at?
How much do you need to start your business
Have a good marketing technique that will draw customers to your business
Know your competitors is very important
Perform a survey on what cutomers want
