Hi there,
I recently had an issue with my bank account & is in debt of about $1500 because I made purchases at e-bay but my paypal money was not transferred and I ended up with over $ of my overdraft fees plus the cost of merchandise. I am planning not to pay it because is frustrated that how come the bank allowed me to purchase them without letting me know that my account has no money. I am a foreight student & has not social number, just my Driver license number. Will that have some lawsuit or criminal charges if I do not pay it?

Can you not just transfer you paypal balance to your checking account?

Thanks for answering, I definitely do not want to run away but since I do not want to do so because they have charged me $27 for overdrwn for each transactions & I did about over 10 transactions. Do you think I can just ignore them without any lawful consequences?

No. I really don't think you can. I know people get arrested for bad checks all the time. So, the best thing to do is face the issue. You will be better off if you do.

1. In almost all cases if you just go in and talk to the people at the bank, they will drop most bank charges.
2. if you do not pay, yes they can file fraud charges against you.
3. If you have the money in eBay you need to pay.

Hello kn:
The Padre knows. Talk to your bank. They probably WILL remove the charges. If you don't pay, they'll close your account and they'll stop you from opening another one in another bank. No, I don't think they'll sue you. And no, they cannot file criminal charges over this.

No you cannot ignore them. There WILL be consequences. Maybe not criminal, but likely civil.
I'm really not clear what happened here. Somehow your bank checking account became overdrawn because Paypal funds were not transferred. Why weren't the Paypal funds transferred?
It is YOUR responsibility to balance your checkbook, not the bank's. Therefore you are responsible for overdrafts unless they occurred because of an error on someone else's part.
I would talk to the bank and try to nefotiate a settlement whereby the fees are dropped.
