 I bought this house 1 year ago. In my living room I can take pictures in one corner of the room and no matter what lighting I use or camera I always have these white spots. The house is over 100 years old. I often see shadows moving from the living room the to the next room. Or will be setting in the kitchen and see a shadow leaving the room. The other night my husband and I was watching TV and our vcr wasn't even turned on and a tape we had left in it from the weekend before... just ejected itself. And the power was stilll off. I often get the feeling I am not alone. During the day.and I am alone in the house all day. I can go down stairs at night and all the lights will be out and the hair will stand up on my arms. Even if I leave a light on I still get that feeling I am not alone. I have turned one of the down stairs bedrooms into an exercise room and I can leave this door open when I got to bed and some times when I get up in the morning and come down stairs, the door will be closed. What do you think culd be going on ?

You may not be alone. There may be something that you cannot see that is there.

On the other hand, I would suggest trying to find as many logical, commonplace explanations for anything unusual that has happened or might happen in the future.

A simple explanation for white spots or "orbs" on pictures, can be the result of dust on the lens of a camera. Or, it could be a real ghost! It is not an unusual occurrence to happen on film. But, the usual explanation is dust on the lens. Some homes can have a lot of dust in them, especially if they are really old.

Shadows? What about trees swaying? Outside traffic going by at certain times of the day?

Power surges can cause electrical appliances to do things that they normally wouldn't.

Drafts and the such can cause doors to shut. Windows open? Go any pets? In particular, cats, who like to rub against things? Live in an area that is prone to earthquakes or small tremors?

I wouldn't freak out about these things. Your hair standing on end may be your reaction to what you think. Is it too cold? This can also cause hair to stand on end.

You may have a temporary or permanent "guest" in your home. But, until things get rough, I wouldn't sweat it, but find the things that happen to be interesting rather than something about which to be frightened.

I have had my own set of experience with things of the paranormal.

There was a very interesting study that linked the lighting and dimensions and layout of a room to paranormal experiences. They could induce paranormal experiences in a large percent of people in a custom built room by engineering it to a specific layout. Older houses are more likely to be built in such a way (different design motivations). This might go some way to explain some of the things you are experiencing. It's a very interesting phenomenon.
