I've read lots of information about hair falling out and I realize there could be a lot of causes. I am allergic to wheat (but I have been for over 10 years), I do dye my hair (but have been for 30 years and it's very healthy), and I have started menopause (but no real bad symptroms yet). The thing that's Weird... is that when all of a sudden, I see a clump of hair sitting on my bathroom floor or such, IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE USED MOLASSES TO HOLD THE ENDS TOGETHER AT THE ROOT... in other words, for about a good inch or more, at the root where it's held together, there is this brown gunk covering the hair and holding it together in a clump! It looks moist and sticky, but when you grab it between your fingers at that spot, the brown gunk just crumbles up and falls away to a fine powder and that whole section just disintegrates! I can't find anyone else who has had this problem. It has happened many times over the last 6 months while drying my hair. Any ideas?
