Does anyone know what I am talking about? I watched it a few times on TV as a kid in the 80's, it could have been a made-for-TV movie, don't know. It seems to me a young brother and sister had to spend a summer at some old house, don't know why, and the boy, I think, encounters the ghost of a little girl asking for help. All I remember for sure is the climax, where it is revealed the little girl had been thrown in a well along with her porcelain doll, and when it is found it gets broken, and diamonds are inside -- hence, the motive of the girl's murder.

I would love to know what this is called, so I can see it again. It reminds me of "The Changeling," which is one of my favorite movies. It is also in the vein of "The Lady in White.":confused:

It was Vera shaka remember that was the song at the beginning the little ghost girl was singing before she had died and it was her father that through her in the well, it when the movie started she was skipping with her doll in hand. I have been looking for that one and water babies also. It was one of the movies I remember from the eighties as well.

Wow that was a trip! My daughter was wanting to watch a "fish movie" on Netflix and when I came I across "Water Babies". That was a movie I've always had vague memories of and couldn't remember the name. Well I watched it and got to thinking about another movie which was about the girl with a doll who had fell down a well... so I Googled it and found this. HAHA! I just thought that was crazy how the very same day I came across Water Babies I ended up reading your post about it! Hey there was also another movie in the 80's where a blonde girl (she was an actress in a James Bond movie too... For Your Eyes Only). She visits somewhere and she starts to find out about a girl who had disappeared when her and some friends had done some sort of standing in a circle, certain time of year, magic. She has to get all the teens back together (who by that time are grown-ups and traumatized from it) so they can re-do what they had done with the hopes of bringing the girl back. Can't remember if it's the same movie but I also remember a part where some kids were in a abandoned building and they start picking on another little girl (maybe a boy) backing them up against a window which they end up falling through. Bugs me having bits and pieces of memories but that's what GOOGLE is good for :-)
