We have a two handled peerless kitchen faucet with sprayer. Water just trickles out and nothing come out of the sprayer. When it is turned on it spits out a little water then there's a clunking noise like when the spayer is used, then after a pause the water flows slow, very slow (2-3 minutes to fill a gallon). I've flushed it out several times and no change, I've even run 1/2 inch galvanized pipe straight to the faucet. Nothing changes the flow. I've even tried blowing air through the faucet. The air flow is even low coming out. I think some crud is stuck in the plastic thing in the center. Any ideas?

With the help of the friendly folks at Westlake's Ace Hardware I was able to fix the problem with the faucet. It turns out that the way our local water company lowers the water hardness (lots of lime) the heat in the hot water heater causes the lime to clump back up and it mixes with the iron in the water to form what looks like chunks of metal or rock. That stuff then collects in our faucets. And as this particular faucet is at the end of the line it gets the most crap in it. This crap then clogs the little white plastic diverter. A simple fix, a penny and a pair of pliers un screws the diverter which can be replaced for 12 to 16 dollars. Also the small hose of a shop vac fit perfectly over the brass spout mount (I don't know what its called) and some water pressure and vacuum got all the crap out.
