My dog had been throwing up. I have got that under control but now he won't drink any water. Usually that is all he does. I have tried ice cubes in and out of the water, flavored water, juice, pedialyte, the only thing he will do is eat popsicles. He is on the boiled chicken and rice diet. I am successfully adding his normal food in with that. I just need to get him drinking again. I know I need to take him to the doctors. Does anyone have any suggestions that may help until I can get him there?

Add some water in his food maybe he will, get enough that way to keep him hydrated.

Junior, you could try adding the chicken broth in with his chicken & rice. He may be willing to lap that up. If not, and you haven't tried plain beef broth, give that a shot. If he doesn't respond to those, and if the popsicles are the only thing he is willing to eat, let him eat the popsicles and try to get him into the vet's office tomorrow for an examination.

Don't let him dehydrate.. it is either try to add some water in his chow or force him to drink water. Ask your vet about any anti dehydration medicine.
Dogs are like humans sometimes even more sensitive than humans

To lisa mr labman is right.. water water and water.. if the dog doesn't drink for a day then force him to drink, dogs is very difficult attend to specially if they are sick. Ask your vet and force him to drink or to eat. Also sanitary is very important.

I had the same problem and the vet did all kinds of blood work. Everything normal and she said "not to worry" but mine still won't drink and its been 2 weeks.
