To all,
I have two PC, now I had link together to share a file.(did't using any router or hub between this two PC , just using network cable"workgroup").
One PC have dial up modem(call A pc) and another no modem, just only lan(call B pc).
Now I want using B PC to connect to internet, it is possible to set up?
(If A PC already dial up the internet)

Note: A PC is using win98 second editon and only dial up modem.
B PC is using Xp pro service pack 2

Hope you all understand what I mean, and teach me how to set up

Another question is anybody have motorola c380 handphone driver?
What website can download the driver?

Thanks a lot

Don't you just hate networking??

I'm not a networking pro or anything, but I do work with it a lot with all of my computer systems. I've found networking two computers with different operating systems is a bit challenging, but if you set it up on the XP computer first (which should be kind of easy), it will give you the option to make a disk to set up the Windows 98 computer for networking.

Now, sharing a dial-up connection? I really don't think that is possible the way you want to do it. I could be wrong though. If you want to share an Internet connection, you would best be with high speed and send it through a router to the computers... but if you want the XP computer to go on the Internet, and not care about 98 going on the Internet, you could just switch the modem from the 98 to the XP. You may not know how to do that though, but you can always ask here!

Hope that helps a little, maybe one of the experts here can help us out too. Best of luck.

Zach

You can set up internet connection sharing from win98 SE onwards.

Get comfy and check out this site.

If you had broadband, the best way would be as Zach says and fit a router - this way both computers don't have to be turned on to share the connection. However using dial-up I think the only way is to share the connection through the win98 machine.

If possible, I would be tempted to share the connection the other way round as it is much easier from winXP. Check out the annoyances site above for instructions.
