Many years of university and medical school would be a good start.
Getting good grades in high school would be excellent advice so that you will be accepted to universities.

Depending on where you choose to study education requirements differ. Top grades are always a requirement. Anyway in Canada to become a pediatrician you will need to attend medical school and earn a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD)which takes 3 years. Then you need to obtain a bachelor's degree which is 4 years then another 4 years after in residency which you specialize as a pediatrician. But if you wants to further specialize in a specific area, such as pediatric surgery, you will need to complete additional years in residency. So to just become a general pediatricianthen after high school you are looking at 11 years at least after high school. As I said after if you want to further specialize it's additional years.

As early as possible (even High School) start taking extra Bio, Chem, A&P, and math courses. Just go to school and work your @$$ off.
