My son has a 98 accord. He washed it yesterday and now it won't start. It cranks normally but nothing more. He didn't wash anything under the hood. He washed it no more than a good rainfall. I read in some forums that cars don't start in the heat. Ive never heard of that before. It may be nonsense. It has been hot in California but my son just moved to long beach from palm springs and in the desert he never had this problem. Any suggestions?

Reading sections A and B below should help you identify what the problem is:

Be sure and test all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Also, be sure and answer the 3 basic diagnostic questions.

Yes, Honda main relays, due to cold solder joints on the PCB, are notorious for failing to work in hot weather. Do a search on this site.

Check the fuel pump or relay on these vechiles u can take the intake pipe off and spray something like carb cleaner while some is cranking to see if it could be the problem
