Hi there,
I have been using lustral 100mg for the past 7 years. I am taking it for clinical depression. When I was in Thailand last year I used the highest factor sun creams and I still got sun burned rather badly. I read on the lustral information leaflet that lustral can cause undesirable effects one being, intolerance of sunlight. I would rather not be taking medication as I have to go through a medical when I arrive in dubai. I hope it doesn't go against me. Is Lustral the best medication for me to be using in such a hot and sunny country? I know I will ask my doctor all this but he may not have an answer! Thanks for your help?

If you have been taking this for 7 years with success there is no reason to change just because of short term sun exposure. You see it will take a while for it to get out of your system and another while for another SSRI to take effect.

This should not go against you as it is prescribed for you. Did it go against you last year when you went?

Best thing for you to do is use the highest SPF sunscreen, reapply it often, and limit your sun exposure.

I see now.

As I live in the US I am not familiar with their ways of dispensing medications. I am sure you will still need a doctor's prescription though.
