How do I add my name on the mortgage?
My name is not on the title or the loan, but I have been paying for the mortgage with my husband too. Now Iwould like to add my name on the tittle. Please advise, thank you.

I don't think you really want to have your name added to the mortgage. That wouldn't give you any ownership in the home. It would only make you responsible for paying back the loan.

Instead I think you want to be added to the deed. Go to the Real Estate Law forum. There is a sticky at the top that explains how to have a person added to the deed.

You also need to check with the mortgage lender. Any change in ownership affects the lien they have on the property. So you need to get their permission. Generally this won't be a problem, but they may also require your name on the mortgage as well.
