It just depends on what type of seeds you buy. How many times you water them. How fertile the soul is. And if they get and equal amount of sun and shade. Its not always the planters fault. Sometims its just a bad year.

Sometimes too much nitrogen and a lack of other nutrients will cause a tomato plant to have lots of pretty leaves but not many blooms. A well rounded fertilzer will help them to produce more fruit. This may or may not be the problem but it is a good place to start.
My plants this year are moving very slow. I adjusted their nutrients and they seem to be reacting in a positive fashion but only time will tell.

It depends on what type of plants u bought! Some grow fast and some grow very slow! Ask where u bought them

I would also suggest pinching off any suckers that you have on them to encourage more blooms to appear and for any fruit to be bigger in the end.
