First, let me quote from a different post about freeing up memory:

check how much space is available on your HDD. Then empty the Windows temp folder of all files (use Windows explorer) - and empty the recycle bin
===================
I've found several "temp" folders and want to be sure I empty the right one.

Is this OK to empty this one: C:\WINDOWS\temp

There's a really easy way to clean up your HDD from junk files: CCLeaner (http://www.ccleaner.com).
Its FREE and does a really good job.
Can even clean your registry as well.

I usually clean out my temp folders, then defrag my computer. :) A lot of times the temp folders is where the spyware like to make a home.

CCleaner... when It's open, there's two tabs showing... Windows and Aplications.
I realise what happens wiith the Windows list but, What does CCleaner do with that application list?

Don't worry about it... just clean it with ccleaner... the app section only cleans temp system app files stuff you don't see or use... if you use online services that remember passwords... like AOL make sure u know you passwords or deselect this function... also some passwords are saved in cookies... but overall ccleaner is one of the top apps for your windows... I also recommend ewido microscanner
