We are going to install a new liner in an above ground pool this weekend. I have read conflicting information as to when the skimmer and jet holes should be cut. Do you fill the pool with water within a foot of the skimmer, attach the trim kit and then cut out the liner? I don't know what to do, and I'm worried about damaging my new liner. Can anyone give me some advice as to when you do this step or any advice in general. Thanks!:)

If you understand why the timing for cutting your skimmer is important it will help you to make a confident decision for your installation.
As the water fills and climbs up the walls, the liner stretches into its final resting position. If you cut the skimmer and return too soon you will experience wrinkles, and potentially a tear, on the bottom of the skimmer and return faces. If you allow the water level to rise within 1-2 feet of the place where you are cutting you should not experience any problems.
I hope this information is helpful.
