I'm 17w5d pregnant, and I've been getting some pretty good cramps the last couple of days. I'm sure a good part of it is because my hubby and I did the deed yesterday, that caused me to cramp up a lot! I've also been getting these pains that almost feel like pressure and/or a pulled muscle in my vagina and in the rectum. I'm not sure if these are normal pregnancy pains, or if I should be concerned. I try not to worry, but sometimes not knowing just makes it worse. I have an aunt who had an incompetent cervix, and although my doc has told me it is not hereditary I find myself worrying that I may be the same. I guess sometimes I'm just so afraid something will go wrong. I try not to look for anything wrong, but I tend to freak myself out a bit. Can anyone tell me that this is all completely normal and that I just need to relax and enjoy the pains? Thanks for any input!

When you are pregnant, and you have an orgasm, your muscles tend to bunch up. These are contractions, but most likely not REAL labor contractions. If you are having bleeding however, or the pain is very strong, coming in regular intervals, you need to get to the ER. I would call your doctor and ask them about it, just to be sure. They will probably have you come in to be checked, or give you a deadline at which point you should come in should it continue. This is not a bother to them, they prefer you to be safe then sorry. (infact, most docs seem to appreciate a mother that talks to them about their concerns, rather then putting it off) it could just be that you are sore from your exhertions from the previous day. Your vaginal area gets much more sensitive due to hormones, and blood volume. I suggest you call the nurse at the office, just to be on the safe side. Good luck

Thanks buggage! I'm sure it was probably from a bit of over exhertion. I've experienced the cramping before, but nothing like yesterday. It was a constant pain that lasted about 35 minutes, easing as time past. Haven't had any bleeding, and the pains in my vajayjay come and go, and don't last long when it comes. I'll call the doc in the morning since it doesn't seem to be urgent. Just concerning for a first time mommy.

Yea, I could definitely understand that. And that is good, it means you are a cautious mommy. Since it only lasted half an hour afterward and there is no bleeding etc, it definitely sounds like it was just contractions from the sex. And the vaginal area is probably just tender from it too. But I'm glad you are going to consult with your doctor as well. Good luck, make sure and let us know what the doc says, just so we don't worry about you ;0)

Thanks hun! I'll let you know how things go. I'll be away from the computer again the next couple of days, but I'll try to get on and let you know. Hope your little one is treating you well! By the way, if that pic is recent... you look great!

OK, look forward to hearing from you. My little guy is great! He'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. At his 5 week appointmnet he was already 11 pounds. The doctor said :" your mommy must have strong milk! " HAHHA. And thank you! that picture was taken... a little over a week ago. I have been lucky after both pregnancies, and dropped the weight quickly. But my stomach is a little more stretched out this time around, so its going to take some extra work to get it tight again. But they are so worth it.
