My 19 year old son was in a biking accident and blew out his knee. The specialist the ER sent us to would not touch him and referred us to a joint trauma specialist. How ever this Dr. was not on our plan, but neither was a Dr. that could do the 2 surgeries needed to hopefully give him use of his knee again. So we went with this Dr. We are in an appeals process how ever if we lose my son will have over 10,000 in bills. He has only been working again for 90 days as he lost his job, home and car as he was unable to make payments. He was nonweight bearing for 4 months. The independent insurance person helping us through the appeal process is the one who mentioned this, should the insurance not pick up more of the bill.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
