If brake light remains on, may be shorted, or out of adjustment. I take it light stays on.
Unplug wires from brake switch, Brake lights should go out. Can you see the switch.
If you can see switch, may be able to see screws. Or mounting method.
Are you blowing a fuse? Hope I can say that.
And does it blow when applying brakes? Circuit goes through signalhead also.
May be located on brake pedal.

The brake lights does not come on... So I am unable to shift out of Park. I eliminated everything down to the Brake light switch.

I would insert jumper in switch connection. Then with ignition on. Try to put in gear.
If it goes in gear, then replace or adjust switch.
If it doesn't go in gear, Check for 12 volts at 1 of the 2 connections that you unplugged from brake switch.
Intentionally placing a switch on this brake circuit is a good anti theft deterrent.
