I just purchased the Cabrio washer and dyer from Whirlpool. My question is, do I need to use the High effecincy detergent that Whirpool recommends? I never use a lot of detergent anyway so I was going to use very little of my regular detergent from Maleluca, but if it really makes a difference in the washer to use the HE stuff I should use it. I just wanted to know what others have done.

The key word is recommend. Use the brand you prefer. As a rule, most folks use more detergent than what is needed to clean laundry properly anyhow.
