Hi,

Got a Land cruiser VX that CEL lights up as soon as I go over 2000 RPM, when cold it does not show but when engine gets warm it does that. The head has been shaved due to overheating problem a few months ago. CEL light blinks 5-2 after which another 5-5. thank you for any info.

Most of the time blinking CEL means misfire codes. I'd start with a fresh set of Plugs and look into the wires while you're there. Be sure all injector wiring is secured.
This should be the 24V cyl head. I sure hope those cams are in time with each other. May I ask who did the work and was this happening since the job was finished?

We are based in a small island in th Philippines the cyl head was machined in manila and the rest was done over here in Puerto Princesa. The knock sensor broke and was replaced with a replacement one not original while we are waiting for Genuine parts. Some were saying it's the shaving of head creating a higher compression that leads to detonation and pre ignition which makes it more technical for us to understand. Thank you for the reply and will do what you suggested..

Those codes are for knock sensor concerns. But it's for both sensors?
Hook up with kitch428 to walk you through diag. Good luck!

Yes I'm afraid it is. 52 is #1 and 55 is #2. Looks like wiring or the shaved head. We did find some that burnt the wiring harness where it got too close to the EGR PIPE.
Other issues were ECU wiring behind the glove box chafing against the glove box bracket.
We ran into the shaved head problem when we did the Supra headgaskets. Same senerio.
Wish I could help you more, but I believe the Toyota parts will fix it as long as the factory connector and wiring for the knock sensors are still intact.
