My seven year old daughter has fanny length hair. She went swimming with a braid which wasn't removed for a while. She had a knot the size of a baseball. I've gotten it down some by working for an hour a day for the last 5 days but it is at a standstill. Ive tried drenching it in conditioner, baby oil, and made slow progress, but the last two days no new strands have broken free. What else can I do?

Try applying a leave-in-conditioner or anti-frizz serum on the knot and then use a wide tooth comb to comb through and remove the knot in her hair. Be sure to comb the hair while it's wet, it will reduce hair breakage and it will be easier to remove the knot.

I have the SAME problem but I can not come half out of my hair! The knot is about 2 times the size as a baseball! I will have my mom and dad comb my hair out tomorrow hope I don't have to cut it:(
