I have had all normal pap screens for the past several years. This last one came up slightly abnormal. They recommended a colostopy. I has one done right away. The doctor said my cervix looked great! She did take a biopsy from my vaginal wall. I did not hear from them for a good while so I called. One of the nurses that I spoke to said that she did not see any abnormalties. Then a week later another one called & said they saw some dysplasia & recommended another pap screen in 4 months. They did connect HPV to this. I just got married & have practiced safe sex & it is embarrassing to have that label on me. Do you think this lab made a mistake & this doctor wanted to make it at least something mild?

If you think your doctor is lying to you to save face, you need to find a new doctor. Can you go to another doctor and be re-tested since you don't trust the results you got?
