Hi I have just bought a new computer and want to use my existing hdd as a slave to the new hdd.

The problem is that the new mboard are SATA connectors and there is no ide
Pin/plug thingy on the back of the new hdd.

This makes me think I have to run the new hdd as pirmary master and the old hdd as a secondary slave (to the DVD drive on ide2).

Is that correct? And if I can is there an adaptor pulg/connector for ide to ata/sata?

Thanks

Your cdrom drive should be IDE right? Then you can connect the old hard drive as a slave on the cdrom IDE cable.

Or, you could buy one of them external hard drive enclosures, and make the old hard drive an external one, connecting via USB (or firewire depending on model).
