It and SimCity were pretty much the only two computer games that interested me...

I'd love to find one just like Incredible Machine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incredible_Machine). Any suggestions for stuff I should try?

I'm pretty sure the incredible machine and it's sequels are abandonware now. Or at least available for cheap.

You should be able to get hold of the 2nd one easily, it's pretty good :)

The third incredible machine wasn't quite as good but is much more recent, maybe you can track that down.

There are a load of similar flash games out there, and indie games, I'll compile a list when I get home.

Thanks, cap.

I did find a couple places to download the first one, but it's listed as a dos game so I didn't want to mess with it.

Due to it's popularity I'm surprised that someone has not done one just like it (for computer).

TIM2 was for windows, I'm pretty sure, you should be able to download that one too, You might have to run it in windows 98 compatibility mode, but it should be fine.

DOS is not normally a problem either...

Armadillo Run (http://www.armadillorun.com/) - Check this one out - I paid for this and it's a great game :)

Rubicon : A Machine-Building Puzzle Game (http://kevan.org/rubicon/) - a java(?) game.

Discovery Kids :: Whizzball (http://kids.discovery.com/games/whizzball/whizzball.html) - this one is really addicting.

3 similar ones:

Impulse - logic puzzle game by Taparo, fresh casual games (http://www.taparo.com/impulse/)
Teagames.com - Blueprint Game (http://www.teagames.com/games/blueprint/play.php)
CCL - PC Hardware and Software Online Store (http://www.cclonline.com/pc/hardware/software/thecclgame/)

There's one that I'm desperately trying to remember the name of, but hopefully this will get you started

There's the incredible machine 1, 2 and 3 too, DOS shouldn't be a problem for you they should run fine, worth a try at least.

Ooh ooh check out eets too:

Eets - A fun combination of Lemmings and the Incredible Machine! (http://www.eetsgame.com/)

It's a little different, you have to guide a little animal to the exit, but it's awesome too! Should be a demo on the website (same goes for armadillo run, the demo is on the website)

I just did the first few levels of the Armadillo demo. I like it. I'll check out the others too. Great fun that I think my kids will like too!

Armadillo run is definitely my favourite of the bunch, followed by whizzball.

If you like the building aspects of armadillo run, you might want to check out bridgebuilder, and pontifex. They require you to build a bridge over water using pipes, then when you're ready you can send traffic over the bridge, where they either make it to the end or plunge to their doom!
Sometimes hydraulics are introduced too, so your bridge might have to open up for the passage of a ship underneath it, then go back down.

BridgeBuilder-Game.com - The ultimate bridge building games website (http://www.bridgebuilder-game.com/)
Chronic Logic - Games (http://www.chroniclogic.com/)

Chronic logic made the 2nd and 3rd incarnations of the bridge building game, but the first bridge builder should be free somewhere (check the 1st link).

Enjoy! :)
