The last time I got my period was the 1st or 2nd week in march. Its now almost the last week in June & I still have not gotten it. I am sexually active but since march I've only had sex 3 times with a condom & the condom did not break. Lately I've been getting frequesnt headaces, stomach cramps & back pains. I took a pregnancy test & it come out negative. Is there a chance I could be pregnant. Someone help!

There's always a chance you could be pregnant if you have unprotected sex. At home pregnancy tests can be wrong, the best bet would be to see a doctor and have a test done there. That is the only way to be sure. If it comes out negative, then the doctor will investigate further on what the problem is.

You need to go see your doctor. Physical needs to be done. There are always other reasons no period is present. Does not always mean your pregnant.

Best of luck.

Joe

Medications, Diet, stress, infections and other factors can cause you not to have your period.

If this was the first time you have ever had sex that is more than likely the reason... Our bodies change drastically after we give our virginity away. Still I do agree with Jesushelper. Go see your dr and have an annual done

Are your menses irregular? Better for you to check with a doctor. Good luck !

Giving your virginity away doesn't cause drastic changes unless you get an STD or pregnant. If you used a condom and the condom didn't fail, having sex is no different for your body then if you would have used an inanimate object. In this case you need to go see a doctor to make sure your not pregnant or have some other problem since you aren't getting your period.

Jesushelper76 read what I said again I don't think you will find any doctor that will disagree with me. I didn't say that penetration and orgasm don't have an affect on the body what I said was that giving away your virginity doesn't. If you can find an article that talks about the physical differences that having sex with a condom can have vs masturbation and finds drastic physical differences between the two. I'll take my disagree my first one by the way and shut up but I don't think you will find any research to back you up on this one.

Its always better to have yourself examined by a doctor as the tests done at home are not always right. So see the doc before it is too late. If you are not pregnant then she might prescribe some tablets which will help the period cycle to move smoothly. Please don't waste any more time and see a doc today

I have personal experience that begs to differ with you Michael. So have a lot of women on this board. I also see a lot of changes due to "first timers" come through on this board. Especially in pregnancy and new motherhood. My dr told me the same thing. Once a women has sex for the first time it changes her body, sometimes it throws her period off sometimes it's just a slight widening of the hips, but once that virginity is lost a women's body changes. Now not all dr's know this, it depends on their field. Dr's are not all knowing but they are educated in the areas of all medicine. I would trust what my dr says because he is someone I trust to know what I'm telling him is true. He communicates with me and my needs. Some dr's don't.

Let me ask Michael, are you a woman? Are you a dr?

Try to not get stressed, that could be a reason why you haven't had your period yet, I remember once I had a delay of 6 months-though I wasn't active- but it can be for tension,. are you regular?

This isn't the first time I've had sex,
This is the 1st time I haven't got my period in almost 4 months.. & on top I've that I've been having protected sex.

Like I said earlier, there are many factors that can effect your period. Best thing for you to do is to visit your doctor and get a physical done. Some blood work. I hope it is something simple. Best of luck to you and please let us know how everything works out.

Understand that protected sex is not 100% effective. The only way you surely will not get pregnant is abstinence.

So, with that said, a doctor's visit is in order.

You could definitely be pregnant! I was almost 5 months pregnant when I found out I was having a baby. I took (at least) 3 pregnancy tests and went to my yearly physical at my doctor's office. I finally knew something wasn't right and called my doctor. She sent me to have blood work done, which was when I found out. If nothing else, go have your blood taken to give yourself a piece of mind

Not a doctor or a woman but
Hormones affect a woman's cycle, not sex. Sex can stimulate some hormones, but as OP said, this is not the first time she had sex. Her virginity is not a factor. Her cycle could have been delayed because of stress or because of pregnancy, but not just because she had sex. Losing one's virginity does not affect a woman's cycle. If OP is young her cycle may not have regulated yet. Show me an medical article that says protected sex can change a woman's cycle I'll admit I'm wrong I'll be happy to show you article that says puberty causes those things.
Puberty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puberty)

Back to the original question... it is possible you could be pregnant. Having sex, even protected makes that possible. The only way to know is to buy a pregnancy test or visit your doctor.

This girl already said that she has had periods before, and this was the first time she has missed one, so I'd say she has already hit puberty...

I agree with Michael about seeing the doctor though, there is no one on here that can tell you either way whether you are or aren't pregnant, all we can do is suggest what we would do in your position, and I think the vote is unanimously "see a dr." As for if it is possible that you are pregnant, YES. Good luck, and I hope you learn an answer soon.

Stress and diet can delay your period, along with pregnancy. Its really simple to rule out pregnancy, just take a test. If its positive, then you know what's causing the delay. If its negative, then you can investigate further into what the problem is.

Tests can still be negative even when you are pregnant. At this point the only test that will say positively is a blood test, and even then it could be wrong. I suggest gettingto your dr. They would be able to tell by now through a vaginal exam whether you are pregnant or not and definitely through an ultrasound.

I was also always told that sex itself is what changes the cycle, and have also done research, and shown that it's the hormones produced in sex that change the cycle - so technically you are both right...

If the hormones produced during sex change your cycle, then how can a sexually active woman ever have a normal cycle? That makes no sense. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I don't see how that's logical.

To OP: As it has been said, lots of things can affect your cycle. Is it possible you are pregnant? Yes. Is it possible you are late because you are getting sick or you are stressed out? Yes. Have a test done to confirm one way or another, and then ask your doctor to put you on birth control. If you are going to be sexually active and don't want children right now, it's best to take precautions. Remember though, even being on the pill isn't a 100% guarantee you won't get pregnant, but you will decrease your risk if you use the pill and condoms.

Q. Will masturbating affect my period?

A. Masturbating will not have any effect on your cycle. Any form of sexual activity can bring your menstrual cycle earlier, and for some women ease menstrual cramps, because your body relaxes during sexual activity, and during orgasm, your uterus may experience some contractions. Your menstrual cycle is controlled by hormones that work in rhythm every single month.

See, it can bring your period earlier, not delay it. I got this from Menstrual Cycle FAQ (http://www.womensselfesteem.com/menstrualfaq.html#44859) in case you want to know anything else about the menstrual cycle.

not always, just the first time you experience it... new hormones = changes... also different sexual experiences can change your cycle at times.

Everyone has different opinions on this LOL. Bottom line, go see your doctor!

I would guess you are not pregnant. Most home tests are accurate enough, but your dr can rule it out. How old are you? Cycles can change at different points in our lives for no real reason, periods can stop altogether again for no real reason, or for a reason you haven't though of! Pregnancy is not the only reason you don't have a period. Being underweight or overweight to a high degree can cause your whole bleeding to stop, and yet still give you all the cramps and aches and moodiness! But you need to see your dr to find out what is going on for sure.

Nautical I think what that FAQ is referring to is if you have sex/orgasm it can induce your flow; so if you would have started on Tuesday, but had sex on Monday, your flow might come Monday night. Either way, you've pointed out that it will not cause your cycle to come later.

alkaline, OP already said this wasn't her first time... and I'm not sure how a different sexual experience would induce or prevent your flow...

Whatever.

Consensus says: go to a doctor.

Jillian - I never said it was her first time, and I saw that she said it wasn't her first. I was arguing the point that it is possible for sex to alter a period. If you look back I already made a comment informing her what to do in her situation.

My apologies; your post:

not always, just the first time you experience it... new hormones = changes... also different sexual experiences can change your cycle at times.

Indicated you were still considering this as her first time.

The comment you quoted was in response to this... Like I said, an earlier post of mine already acknowledged that I understood it was not the girls first time, but I am finished arguing with you people over mute point. I take a lot of time researching my responses and have been posting honest and true answers here for a long time. I don't want to be a jerk either, but as I said earlier, it is pointless for us to go back and forth on this, as it is different for each person - different bodies- , there will never be an answer on that particular subject. The Posters original question has already been answered.

Which if you notice, alkaline is why I apologized; because I misinterpreted your post.

You're right, this is a "moot point" and it should be let go.
