I have a Kenmore Washing machine model # 110.2463200 , when you try to wash a load it fills up with water but then it stops. It won't finish the cycle. What do I do to fix this. Is it the lid switch? If so how do I fix that?

Not sure if this model is direct drive or belt driven. If it is belt driven, check the belt. It is located under the unit. If it is direct drive, the had unusual timer problems.

I have a similar model. Perhaps slightly newer. The water filled up but when I shut the lid it didn't start. It is direct drive, not belt driven. It wasn't the timer it was the lid switch. That was bad.

I think your model number is missing a character. I think we can muddle through, though. This should be a direct drive washer. The problem could easily be a lid switch. Usually when this lid switch causes a problem, you can't hear it "click" when you lower the lid. It should click when the lid is almost closed. If you hear it click as you open and close the lid, then likely the problem is elsewhere. It could also be the tab on the lid that pushes on the lid switch when you close the lid. Make sure it's there. Otherwise, it could be the pressure switch. This switch basically gives power to the fill valves or the motor. If one of the contacts is bad, it would fill but then the motor won't run. One way to tell is to set the timer to a final spin and see if it spins. If it does, its not the lid switch. After all that, it could also be a bad timer contact. After the tub is full and the pressure switch toggles to the other contact, the power actually goes back to the timer where it is routed to the motor. If a timer problem exists, the power may not make it to the motor. You could take a stab by changing the lid switch first, as its not very expensive, but a volt meter and a schematic is the only way to know for sure.

99% of the time a Washer Machine fills, but won't continue to wash
It is the LID SWITCH. Hope this helps :-)
