I am looking for a wiring harness or help with a Nissan Pathfinder 2dr. Model - there appears to be some loose wires and although I have power the starter will not turn over and the starter is brand new. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

1. Check all under-hood and under-dash fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

2. Check for a blown in-line fusible link or megafuse.

3. See if this might help:

I have an 89 nissan pickup. If yours has a manual transmission there is a relay that won't let the starter have power unless the clutch is pressed in. Mine failed and I had to replace it. Its been a long time ago. It was either on the firewall 2nd in from the passenger side or above the fuse block, the relay on the right.

Also there is a switch on the clutch pedal that may cause this. On automatics there is a switch that detects park and neutral and won't start if its not in the correct position.

If automatic move the shifter around while trying to start it. Be careful as it may start in drive or reverse if the switch is not working properly. Keep a foot on the brake.
