I am a 19 year old male suffering from depression which I have been for sometime now. The problem is that when I get an errection it goes away while doing foreplay with my girlfriend, she seems to think that I am going off her which I am not. When I was with previous girlfriends I was on medication for my depression as now and didn't have the erection problems. Can you think of a suitable solution to this problem.

Trying viagra wouldn't solve your problem. Try to see a psychologist because the problem seems to me is mental.. stop thinking that you cannot get the right erection during a foreplay or whatever.. because it'll get you worse and worse...

I am having the same problem but I am not on any medication and in great shape. I get an erection then it goes away in the same situation. I know I can get one but I can't keep it. What should I do?

When you take a Pill it mess's with the pitatary Glan which regulates all chemical process in the body it can take months for yer body to adjust again..

Maybe you should discuss this with your doctor and ask them to try a different anti-depressant. Some anti-depressants can cause you to have a problem getting or maintaining an erection. I don't think taking Viagra would help if that is what is causing the problem. Again the best thing is to let your doctor know what is going on, and if he can't recommend a different anti-depresant, then you will need to decide if you want the sex or the anti-depressant.

WHAT?

I think you mean the PITUITARY GLAND, and not all drugs mess with the pituitary gland. In all actuality it is the Hypothalmus that regulates the processes in the body. The hypothalmus is the thermostat of the body.

Now, all of the other info is correct. Some meds do cause sexual problems. You need to explore this with your doctor and let him know this is happening to you. There are other meds that do not have this side effect but are as beneficial as the one you are taking now with fewer side effects.

Anti-depression drugs can always cause this problem... Just because you didn't have it happen before doesn't mean its not the meds. Like J_9 states, talk with your doctor, maybe there are better alternative to the medication you are on now.
