Hello, I'm new to this site and it looks pretty good to me.

My French doors will not lock. I had foundation repaired. Also had the doors stained and waterproofed and locks won't match up. Who do I call, a Door repair person or a locksmith?

Thanks

Akia

If the locks work why call the locksmith? If the dead bolt or your catch is not aligned with the strike pad then your doors are out of sinc

Yep, they work all right. So who do I call for an alignment?

The same carpenter that did your foundation, perhaps when they worked the foundation something went wrong. Did these doors line up and lock prior to that service?

Thanks for answering. Yes they did work before. I'm in Texas and we have had a lot of rain. The soil is clay and swells. The reason I had Foundation work was because I could not even open my doors they would stick real bad. I don't know maybe I should call the foundation people back.

Or a reputable carpenter, He may just have have to remove the doors and replumb the jambs. A little mess may be involved if he has to remove the door moulding to replumb.
(door frames are not squared and need to be for the locks to line up)

Good luck, may get lucky and maybe just a hinge is off line or something simple.

If You Send A Close Up Of The Door, Show Me The Margine Between The 2 Doors And Show Me The Margin Of The Tops Of The Doors. Most Likely What Has Happened Is By Fixing The Foudation It Has Caused The Door To Get Out Of Alignment, You May Need To Just Readjust The Keeper On The Passive Door, Your French Door Has A Passive And Operative Doors, Passive Is The Door That Stays Shut Unless You Unlock It.

Take Alook At Your Doors From The Inside, Notice At The Top Of The Doors, In The Middle If One Of The Door Edges Is Higher Than The Other, If So This Is The Problem. If They've Already Jacked Up The Foudation The Only Way To Really Fix This Is To Take Out The Doors And Reinstall Them. Other Than This A Good Carpenter Should Be Able To Adjust The Doors To Make Them Latch, The Margins Will Be Off But The Doors Will Latch.

On The Door With Door Knob Make A Mark Where The Striker Is, The Striker Is What Sticks Out Of The Edge Of The Door, Have The Door Almost Closed And Mark The Striker On The Other Door, From This You Can See If The Striker Lines Up With The Keeper.
