If mom goes, 3 day old babies go too. If you handle them, handle with latex gloves on.

tickle, I have never had a cat and her babies, the youngest kittens I find is usually around 2 months old and normally they are feral/ usually being feed by a good samaritan. Why would you handle the babies with gloves? Will the momma reject them or will she harm them. I do know mommas will move them from place to place sometimes. Also posted on here a few times, someone is wanting to know if it is OK to pet the newborns. Is this wise?

Years ago no one would have bothered to wear gloves moving young animals around, but I think it is best to keep a personal scent off them, although I don't think the mom would reject or harm them. Of course, this would be done only if absolutely necessary, like a vet visit.

No I really don't think it is wise to pet newborns. They are so tiny and fresh they could be harmed.

I forgot the most important single reason why newborns should not touched with a bare hand)and that is their immune systems would not be fully charged.

She probably has worms.KIttens should be dewormed at 3 to 6 weeks,And the mom grooms the kittens and will usually have worms also. She cannot be wormed till the kittens are weaned. Take her in with the kittens to be sure.
