Back from FL ocean fishing.

Got 3 awesome days in catching Bonita, Crevalle Jack (caught a 45 pounder that kicked my scrawny butt!), Barracuda, and King Mackerel. Tried for some Mahimahi but had no luck.

Did come out of it with about 200 pounds of some awesome eatin' fish, though :)

And saw the shuttle go off right from my Dad's dock... that was cool!

Here's a few pics of my and my son's catches.

I thought it was quiet here for a while. :)

Sounds like some good father-son time for all parties. Can't wait 'till my little guy is older.

Cheers and welcome back.

Wow. Those pics are amazing. Good for you that you managed to find some down time and spend some special time with your son & father.

Why am I suddenly craving fish for lunch?

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what does this mean?

It was truly cool to eat the fish that was caught same day. We had sushi on the boat then when we got back we cooked it.

The same fish that gets frozen and shipped to stores and sold for $15-$20 a pound we got to eat fresh with the only payment being a sore muscle or two.

Was definitely a trip that I'll never forget.

Hey Rick. Nice Cuda. Did you have the king Mackrel for sushi?

RickJ
Jun 14, 2007, 03:09 AM
Yes, but it's not nearly as nice as Tuna... but we did not feel like going 80-100 miles out for good tuna.

The King is best marinaded then grilled for just about 2 minutes each side.

I wanted to keep the Cuda so I could keep it for it's skeleton but they wouldn't let me bring it on the boat :D

Rick Yaaaaaaay! I knew something was missing! Where did all the questions about melting and freezing points go? :D

Welcome back, I'm sure you'll slide right back in :D

Cute fishies!

Haha, I did ask about freezing points while I was there and they looked at me like Frito in Idiocracy :D

They said "isn't that what makes ice cubes in my freezer?"

That makes me yearn for a vacation!
Very nice photography.
Can't say much about the bloody fish though but I guess someone's got to catch them. There's probably too many of them anyway.
We live close to St. Augustine. My husband went out to see the rocket too from the yard. You can see it streaming fire. He's into flying miniature helicopters too.
Glad to see the pix, Rickj! God Bless
