I just bought a new home and I love it except I am already having a bad experience with ny neighbor across the street. Everyday they park a blue mini van in front of my house for hours> I've asked them nicely with a note if they could park in their driveway at times or in front of other neighbors houses as well. That back fired and was taken the wrong way and now its at the point where I am calling the police and having their car ticketed. But guess what they now have resorted to just switching cars to bug me more. How can I resolve this without making it take away from me enjoying my home?:(

Hello K:
If they park on the street in front of your house, they're not doing anything wrong. You don't own the street.

Yes I'm with excon, why do you have a problem with them parking in the street?
Doesn't sound like you have made a good start to life ion your new neighborhood.

If there's a law against it, keep reporting it and it will get too expensive for them to continue. If there is no law or ordinance against parking there, drop it.
To respond to those who don't understand why you have a problem with it, some cars can be an eyesore and some people chose to buy homes in places that have ordinances against parking in the street to maintain a pleasant atmosphere. Condo associations often do, for example. I personally don't really like to look at yards that have a bunch of crap all over - kids toys, broken down cars and so on - and a lot of people share my views. Developments that don't allow cars to be left in the street are typically trying to avoid that kind of blight, which can reduce the value of the homes.
If there's no ordinance or association policy though, you need to leave the neighbors alone because they haven't chosen to live in that particular of a neighborhood - and nor have you.
