So I just started taking birthcontrol and I started to spot about 11 days after I started birthcontrol and it was like a normal period and lasted like 8 days does that count as a period? Than 2 days before I was supposed to be on the inactive pills I started to lightly spot and now I am on my inactive pills and I have brownish and pinkish spotting it is very light does that count as a period? And I just want to make sure that those could count to make sure I am not pregnant. Because I did have sex after 9 days of starting birthcontrol.

Aren't you supposed to wait until a whole cycle of pills has been taken before you have sex? Call the pharmacist or your doctor or read the printed insert that came with the pills to find out what's normal during the first cycle. Having sex during the first cycle might mess up how they work.

You are suppose to wait a month before the birth control is effective, at least that is what my doctor told me. If this is your first time on birth control or you switched to a new birth control it is normal for your periods to be irregular before your body gets use to things. The insert will even tell you that irregular spotting, discharge, or even periods is normal for the first few months. Your period should get regular once your body gets use to the change. I wouldn't worry about anything. If your period continues to be irregular then call your doctor. Good luck!
