Have a York model in our townhouse. Inside unit works and seems to blow out cool air, but outside unit where fan and compressor are does not run. Checked fuse box and did not look tripped. So I flipped it back and forth and heard a noise coming from box every few seconds. My son was outside at unit and could hear a clicking noise like it wanted to start up but couldn't. What could it be?

The noise you hear, is it at the inside breaker box? If so you may have a bad run capacitor or start capacitor going bad and causing high amp draw on startup, or you may just need a kick start added to help the compressor start.

Make sure the disconnect next to the unit has not been shut off. It sounds to me like the clicking you hear outside may just be the contactor pulling in. Does the fan or compressor try to run at all?

I just turned on the AC for the first time this year, the inside unit is working, but the condenser outside is not coming on?
