Many convicted felons who are given death sentences live on death row for upwards to twelve years. And we pay for their survival needs. This, folks, is not acceptable. Can the appeals process be shortened?

Hello Jeff:

Sure. But without the political will to do so, it ain't going to happen.

PS> What's worse than that, is that many lifers only do about twelve years total. So we keep a guy on death row for an ordinary life sentence, then we execute them... Looks like TWO sentences to me...

You want to shorten their time here on Earth? You know some of these felons are later found to be innocent. Or do you think that is just the price to pay?

So am I, bushg. There are some that just are clear cut, like hanging is too good for them, such as Joseph Edward Duncan III. Then there are the stories of people who, twenty years later, are set free. Wrong person, faulty evidence, etc. No easy answer.

Im sorry but I just don't see any crime that is worthy of putting to death another human.

I know lots of you will throw up atrocious acts from 'things' that shouldn't even be considered human beings. But I just don't see that killing them is the answer.

After everything Hussein did I still found watching the footage of his death very disturbing and quite sickening.

What is actually gained by corporal punishment other than another grisly death??

Very likely in our current and possible new political atmosphere we see coming, I foresee them trying to make all the death penalties uncostitional down the road.

But as noted it is all political, on the one hand many want to show a get tough, but not too tough, But their living expenses is not aht much, it is their court and attorney fees that the tax payers pay for, that often costs us a lot more.

Jeff Logan disagrees: Would you feel the same way if someone killed your kid or wife?

Yes!

Would you feel the same if your kid / wife was a murderer?
Would you still want them hung or electrocuted?

I think this was a very unnecessary disagree..
