Hi,

We have a 96 Toyota Granvia import. Brill car, except that for the past few weeks it has had intermittent problems starting. We have had to keep getting the battery out for an our to charge fully before putting it back in to start. It seems to be fine for a few days and then nothing - not even a stutter! Any ideas?

It sounds to me like the battery isn't recharging while you are driving. There should be a warning light on (probably RED) on the instrument panel. It's possible the alternator/generator may be putting out enough to keep the warning lamp off but not enough to run the car. The battery is slowly drained each time you use the car and eventually will need replaced. Have a qualified technician check the charging system: including but not limited to good drive belts and clean grounds. Good lick!
