You need to know much more than that dog pregnancies average 63 days. Most other people, that know and love dogs in addition to me, think it is highly irresponsible to be breeding dogs without learning what you are doing before even selecting breeding stock. I don't begin to know enough to even suggest a good book, but Successful Dog Breeding, by Chris Walkowicz, DMV is recommended by some very good people. You can also browse Woodhaven Labradors Articles (http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/articles.html#breeding) As far as I can tell, that site is a real trove of good dog info. Much better than many of the sites somebody here Googled up.

"You need to know much more than that" quote from labman. I googled up 2,800 website regarding Rescue sites for daschunds.( these are dascunds that are in need of homes) Every day 10's of 1000's of puppies and kittens are born each DAY around 11,000 babies are born each day. Now can you tell me how each puppy and kitten one is going to find a loving home? In six years a female dog and her off spring can produce 67,000 puppies. Do you really want to be a part of this problem. Please considering spaying your baby:)peace

Call your vet. Do some research and find some books. There is SO MUCH you need to know we can't possibly cover it all here. By the way, please be aware that if you bought your dog from a pet store or a backyard breeder, she isn't considered good breeding stock by serious breeders of Dachsunds. There are many health issues related to poorly bred pets. If she transfers a serious genetic defect to one of her puppies, it might not show up immediately. You might find yourself being sued by one of your buyers at a later time to recover all their medical expenses.
