Okay, so I apparently got my period, well at least , I'm not sure, its like brown discharge, is that normal, I don't think this is my period, I'm really confused, I haven't had cramps, I got the first discharge on Friday night, but I had cramps on Thursday afternoon,
Is this my period?
Wats up with this?

Most likely, you need to speak to your mother about this,

I agree.
Sodium, I understand you have a hard time talking to your Mum. So, yes, this does sound like your first period. The first few are almost always a little different than what you usually expect. Those of us that get a more regular flow and have cramps and symptoms have usually had our periods for a while. It doesn't happen to every woman, so you might be one of the lucky ones.
However, you do need to try and start talking to your Mum about this stuff. She does need to know so that she can keep you "stocked up" if you know what I mean.

I'm so glad you have this site and I hope I can give you some comfort! Yes, that is your period, and it may start light like this and stay that way, or you might have a heavier flow later. Anyway, it looks brown because the blood has oxidized. You're not a mutant, everything sounds totally normal. You may have cramps later, maybe not. We're all different. Might I suggest however, is an alternative to the regular maxi pads and tampons? They contain many different chemicals (including bleach) which may harm you. As a woman, I'd recommend something reusable or an organic cotton. This process is as normal as farting, aging, dying, and sneezing - don't be embarrassed. I hope I've helped!:D
