A simple series circuit has two resistors, one 56ohm, the other is 120ohm and is connected to a supply voltage of 100 volts. Calculate the current flowing and the total power dissipated.

1. Do you know how to find the total resistance R of this circuit?

2. You must memorize the formula V=iR. You know V and R; calculate I.

3. Memorize that power = volts x current. You found current in step 2, so now you can calculate total power.
