Hi can you help me,I am having a problem with my dvd rom drive.
I have a separate dvd rom and cd rewriter on my computer.

My dvd rom is a piooneer, the problem is that it will not detect any dvd films, but does detect normal cd games etc.
I have the power dvd program to play my films.but it detects no disc every time only recognises cd games.
Please help what can I do.

You need a DVD decoder to view DVD videos, you can buy these in the store or you can go the risky route and download one from Kazaa or many other P2P programs just search DVD Decoder... Good Luck

flightsimlove, quickshot23 is right. If the dvd decoder still does not work, then you need a region killer software, added to the dvd decoder. See, a particular DVD device and DVD disk will only work in certain regions of the world. Hollywood does this on purpose to minimize piracy. Hollywood divided the world into 6 regions, something called Regional Coding enhancement(RCE). For example, REGION 1 is restricted to US, CANADA, and US terrritories. You can find more info as well as download a region-free software at a link at http://www.dvdtalk.com/rce.html. Also, clean your temp files and minimize any background activity or program.
