I've spent the last 9 months losing 40 pounds. Now I need to know how to go about toning my body such as my arms, legs and stomach?

You just need a minimum of 30 minutes of a good overall body workout. First always warm up. You need cardio, (try any form of kickboxing, front kicks, back kicks, side kicks and knee lefts, there are a lot of sites on the web that will explain how to learn these moves.) You also need strength training exercises for the abs, hips, thighs and upper body, such as squats, lunges, pushups, leg lifts and crunches. Drink lots of water especially after you work out so you don't risk dehydration. These exercises don't require a gym or equipment, but if you can join a gym great, same kind of work out with weight/resistance training and they have many plans they can discuss with you for your exact needs.

I got a workout dvd from the Beachbody company called Slim in 6. It is a demanding workout that covers your whole body. I saw the most results using that video, but I have to admit it is one of the most boring workouts I have used. I prefer stuff that moves more quickly like dance, etc. But, if you use it for 6 weeks, you will definitely see results.
Like lovelesspa said, you just have to exercise those areas that need the work. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the baby basket that was left after my last child. It is the first place that gets bigger when I gain, but the last to get smaller when I lose!
Congratulations on losing 40 pounds!
