Can anyone help me figure out how to correct my computer's registry? The computer won't recognize the CD/DVD drive at all. It doesn't even show up in 'My computer.' None of my music media are able to play cds because they all say 'a cd drive in needed.' How do you correct the registery? I've been on the Microsoft website and they give instructions on deleting the upperfilters and lowerfilters but my computer doesn't give me that option once I've followed all the instructions to get there.

What do I do?

Check first the Device Manager under CD/DVD drives if the CDRom shows up there, if not is the cdrom recognized by the bios (the black summery box when you start up your computer). It would also be helpful if you include the Microsoft Link you looked up so I can see what their solution is.
