View Full Version : Buying a home with no air

Myth

I live in Tennessee and we are looking at a nice 4bd 2bath home. It currently only has places for wall cooling units. I don't want to have to adjust a unit in every room of my soon to be home on a daily basis. How much would it cost to put in central heating/cooling? The house is between 2000 and 2400 sq ft. It has an attic and a crawl space under the house. We will be doing some renovation work to it before we move in. If we can't install the central unit what would other options be for keeping the house cool/warm? And what should we look for in cost? What are some good questions to ask about the company that does the work... etc..

I suggest you get some quotes on the central air conditions you want from reputable dealers in your community, possibly by recommendation or the yellow pages would be a good place to start.

Myth, call the local electric company in Fayette County. Here in Tipton our company does this and just adds a % to the monthly bill to do this.
