Tub drains slowly, forms regular clogs.
Many Chemical solutions have already been wasted. :(
Have removed overflow plate/plunger lever.
Plunger linkage will not come out of pipe.
Metallic sounding resistance is met inside the first inch of pull out.
I have pulled very hard and gained no ground on the original give distance.
I have jiggled, swiveled, caressed and cajoled the linkage for no effect.
SpeedBall1, please save me!!
P.S. there is no access panel and the house (&plumbing) are circa 1926.

Get in there and PULL! Outside of changing the tub waste that's about all you can do. If it's stuck so tight you can't pull it out then perhaps you should think about replacing it. You should have a access panel back there anyhow. Regards, Tom

With no access hole you may need to think about creating one. Try dad's recipe, mix a 1/2 cup of salt with 1/2 cup of baking soda and dump into the drain. Add a cup of vinegar and allow to soak over night, flush with buckets of hot water tomorrow.
