Dave, it might be plugged up with hair and the normal shower residue. There are a few things you can try. First try running a bath, but only put 3 or 4 inches of water. Grab the plunger, pull the plug and plunge away, sometime depending on the plunger you might have to add more water in the tub. You should see, black and other gunk. If that don't work. There is some really toxic drain cleaner that you can only get from a hardware store. But you have to be very careful and read the directions. It is an acid, when you open it you should wear gloves, this stuff really does the job. It bubbles up and I would ask the hardware attendant if you should use this, depending on your drain pipes. Third, you would probably need a plumber to snake your pipes. But I would try the plunger first. Hope this helps

Nnikkis solution to use a plunger has merit but it won't work unless you seal off the overflow plate with a wet rag. DO NOT use harsh chemicals or acid in the drain. They seldom work and it makes it dangerous for a ploumber if he has to snake out the drain line. And snaking out the drain line is the only way I know of to be sure to clear a clogged drain. Let me show you how.
Unscrew and remove the overflow plate,(The one with the drain lever) and pull out the tub stopper. You now have a clear shot at the trap. The way you were going in through the drain it ran you square into a tee that you can't get around. Now feed the cable( 1/4" best or 3/8" with a small tip. You can rent a Ridgid K50 sink cable.) About 2' down you will run into the bend of the trap. Crank and push at the same time to work around it. Your blockage will be found in the lateral pipe going to the main or stack. You shouln't have to put out more then 10 or 12 feet. I have found tub and shower clogs to be mostly hair and the worm should auger into it and pull it back.
